The City of Lights

It was so nice to be back in Paris for the weekend.  If you haven't been, it's a must!  We're lucky enough to have been before and we were able cover most of the tourist sights during previous visits.  That really freed up a lot of time to explore more areas of the city that we haven't spent as much time in.  We stayed in Saint Germain and it was a perfect location.  Le Marais is another great area that we spent most of our first day in.  It has lots of restaurants, cafes and great shops.  Thanks to some girlfriends, I had endless recommendations from where to go for the best crepe, macaroons, onion soup, cocktails to Hemingway's old stomping grounds to art exhibits/museums.  I don't do as much walking as I'd like to at home so it was very refreshing to walk almost everywhere we went and to absorb as much as the city as we possibly could (and to burn off some of the delicious cuisine).
Notre Dame
Delicious buckwheat crepe at Breizh Cafe
We went to Cafe Flore (Hemingway's old stomping grounds)  I was disappointed.  It's pretty hard to mess up tea, but they managed to.  It was about $9…and it didn't even steep.  Definitely won't be going back there.  It's extremely overpriced!

The tourist in me desperately wanted to put a lock on the padlock bridge (also known as Ponts des Arts) and was so glad that I did!  (I'm not sure Ryan felt the same, but he was a good sport and I love him for that).

I've wanted to try Ralph Lauren's restaurant for a while and we were able to get a reservation for brunch.  The food was delicious and the service was superb!
The Louvre (haven't quite mastered selflies)

Eiffel Tower
The line for Angelina's.  I don't love macaroons so I didn't think it would be worth the wait.  Maybe next time.
The two dinners that we had were incredible.  The first night we went to La Societe.  It came recommended to me by a family friend and I have to say that it was delicious.  They have the best cheesecake that I have ever tasted.  If you feel like splurging, it's worth a visit!  For our last night we went to my favourite restaurant in Paris, Les Relais de l'Entrecote.  I didn't take a picture because I didn't want to be too much of a tourist so you'll just have to trust me when I say they have the best steak frites.  The only thing they ask you is how you'd like your steak cooked…there isn't a menu.  It's all you can eat steak and frites and it's very reasonable.

Until next time Paris...xo
